Stories Behind the Lens
Knight BanditShare
Photography, for me, has always been more than just light on a sensor. Each image carries a moment, a story, and a sense of place. Over the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to travel, explore, and capture scenes that have stuck with me. Some are tied to family and friends, others to landscapes and aviation. Together, they form a collection that reflects the way I see the world — one frame at a time.
Brighton in Bloom (Brighton, England)
I shot this in Brighton while visiting family. The contrast of the rich orange brick with the purple flowers stood out immediately. It reminds me of how even the simplest corners of a city can hold striking beauty when you slow down and notice.
Night Vision Under the Aurora (Redmond, Oregon)
My wife silhouetted against the stars and aurora, wearing night vision goggles. It was one of our last nights with friends in Oregon before moving to Florida. The photo carries both wonder and a kind of farewell — light, sky, and memory converging.
Chem Light Glow (Redmond, Oregon)
Another shot from that same night: her adjusting her goggles with a green chem light in hand. I love the glow and how it cuts through the dark — a moment of calm in the middle of an unforgettable send-off.
La Mal Poste Garden (Normandy, France)
In Normandy, I stayed at a bed and breakfast called La Mal Poste. Their garden was alive with color — orange bamboo glowing against the green. It felt like a hidden sanctuary, and I wanted to capture that sense of calm.
The Battery Trail (Normandy, France)
A dirt trail winding through wildflowers, leading toward an old anti-air gun. France carries both serene beauty and heavy history, and this shot for me is where the two meet.
Glacier Stone (Glacier National Park, Montana)
A towering peak with snow still clinging to its slopes. The rawness of Glacier always feels humbling — the mountain doesn’t care who you are, it just stands there, solid and cold.
Lighthouse at Dusk (Rincón, Puerto Rico)
On our trip to Rincón, Puerto Rico, my wife and I caught this lighthouse just as the sky shifted into blues and purples. A simple structure, but standing there, it felt like a watchtower over both time and sea.
Leaning Palm (Rincón, Puerto Rico)
The leaning palm over the shoreline was a quiet reminder of why I love Puerto Rico. The island has this way of making time feel slower — waves, sky, sand, and the weight of nothing else.
Waterfall Silence (Bend, Oregon)
This waterfall is tucked away in Central Oregon, surrounded by pine. Standing there, you hear nothing but rushing water and wind through the trees — a reminder of the wild spaces that shape us.
Thanksgiving at the Lake (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho)
My wife during Thanksgiving, framed against Lake Coeur d’Alene. The leaves were falling, the lake calm, and the air biting cold. This shot feels like home — Idaho’s stillness mixed with family warmth.
Formation Flight (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho)
Looking straight up, I caught this formation of five Canadian geese. Perfect timing, wings stretched against a blue canvas. A fleeting moment, but one that sticks with me.
Gabriel’s Story (Coeur d Alene, Idaho)
Three portraits of my friend Gabriel after his accident.
These images matter to me because they capture more than survival. They show an artist reclaiming life, scar and all.
Aviation in Focus
Aviation has been a constant thread in my life — whether in the skies above Oregon, the beaches of Florida, or airports far from home. These photos capture that connection.
Wings Over Huguenot (Jacksonville, Florida)
A home-built airplane cruising over Huguenot Beach, just north of Jacksonville. There’s something timeless about seeing flight against the openness of the sky and ocean.
Night Flight Trails (Redmond, Oregon)
A long exposure of an aircraft’s lights as it moved across the night sky. I love how motion transforms into streaks of light — proof that even speed leaves a trace when you look long enough.
Airshow Arcs (Madras, Oregon)
From an airshow — two planes cutting through the sky, leaving exhaust trails like brushstrokes. I love how aviation marries raw mechanical power with the grace of flight.
Cargo in the Clouds (Miami, Florida)
A cargo jet waiting on the ramp in Miami, framed against a dramatic summer sky. Aviation, to me, is equal parts workhorse and wonder — this photo captures both sides.
Firelight and Whiskey (Redmond, Oregon)
A homemade whiskey sour, glowing orange in the firelight. The colors, the warmth, and the quiet of that night still sit with me. Sometimes the simplest settings carry the strongest atmosphere.
Bauhaus Warmth (Grants Pass, Oregon)
Inside a BnB in Southern Oregon, the Bauhaus-style furniture caught the afternoon light just right. The orange tones gave the whole room a glow that felt both nostalgic and cinematic.
Whitey the Goat (Bend, Oregon)
This is Whitey — my uncle’s goat, and a character all his own. He’s equal parts stubborn and curious, always pressing his nose through the gate to see what’s going on. Photographing him was less like capturing an animal and more like taking a portrait of an old friend who just happens to be a goat.
